Elad Roisman Selected as the Acting SEC Chairman

Elad Roisman has been selected as the acting chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission after the former chairman Jay Clayton stepped down on Wednesday.

The news was made public by a commissioner of SEC Hester Pierce on her Twitter page.

“Congratulations, Chairman Roisman! I look forward to your leadership of the SEC,” she tweeted.

Blackrock Is Looking To Fill “Vice President, Blockchain” Role

The world’s largest asset management company BlackRock has published a job opening for the post of Vice President, Blockchain Lead in New York.

According to the job role, the ideal candidate must have experience in “articulating the technological foundations of blockchain technology including cryptographic hash functions, distributed network consensus mechanisms, and public-private key cryptography; devising and articulating fundamental valuation methodologies for crypto-assets; evaluating game theory and decentralizing governance models associated with blockchain technology.”

Also, he/she must be skilled in “working with key drivers of blockchain networks’ design and their impact on the four key dimensions of blockchain performance including speed, scalability, privacy, and security.”

Japan Making Plans to Launch its Digital Currency

Japan is following the footsteps of China as it is preparing to launch and issue its digital currency or central bank digital currency.

According to a former senior official in charge of payment and settlement systems at the Bank of Japan Hiromi Yamaoka, he wants the digital currency to be privately and publicly driven and wants it implemented with speed as China.

“China has prompted moves toward digital currency around the world” and “it has done so at surprising speed, as central banks tend to take a cautious stance,” he said.

Russian Crypto Exchange Litecoin Says It’s Under Attack, Pleads With Clients Not To Use Platform

Russian cryptocurrency exchange, Litecoin has announced on its website pleading with its clients to stop depositing funds, trading funds and using its Application Programming Interface, API because it’s under what it called a planned attack.

According to the post, “we lost control of all our servers, backend and node,” and “our news channels were compromised.”

It added that they are working hard to recover all that has been hijacked by the hackers.

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license.
