Twitter is reportedly planning to introduce a new tip option to the “Tip Jar” of its latest beta update to allow users to tip content creators with Bitcoin.

If this feature goes live, Twitter users will be able to gift their favorite content creators with BTC, while payment options like Cash App, PayPal, and Venmo might be used as payment options on the Tip Jar.

According to a report by MacRumors, a website that aggregates Mac and Apple-related news, rumors, and reports, although this option is not yet available for beta users, code in the beta suggests that Twitter is planning on rolling it out.

MacRumors further stated that Twitter beta users will have to connect a Strike account to their profiles ” to generate Bitcoin Lightning invoices.”

In the last 24 hours, bitcoin is up by 2.35%, with a current price of $48,522.20 as at the time of writing this. Within 24 hours, bitcoin dropped to $46,542.02 low and $48,557.64 high. The trading volume of bitcoin in the last 24 hours is $909.06M. The current market capitalization of bitcoin is $912.35B. Currently, $18.80M bitcoins is in circulation.

The report added that educational resources would be added to the latest Twitter beta to help users learn about Bitcoin Lightning Network and custodial and non-custodial Bitcoin wallets.

Earlier this year, the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, said that Bitcoin will be a big part of Twitter’s future, adding that the company will integrate BTC into other services provided by Twitter, including commerce, subscriptions, Twitter Tip Jar, and Super Follows.
