Over 500 000 people are waiting to start using the newly launched Layer 2 account by DeFi wallet Argent built on zkSync.

Argent launched the new crypto wallet to help users escape the high gas fee on transactions on the Ethereum network and cut down the environmental impact.

According to a promotional message on Argent’s website, the Layer 2 solution promises low trading fees as low as $1 and high transaction speed.

“Up to 100X cheaper fees than Ethereum thanks to zkSync’s Layer 2 network. With near-instant speed,” it reads.

Argent disclosed that more than 500 000 have signed up to the waitlist to enjoy the perks of the new account.

The new solution allows users to use their cards for transfers and can also link them to their bank account for easy transfers.

Argent also allows users to earn interest on their crypto assets using DeFi protocols from a number of partners, including Yearn, Lido, Aave, and Gro.

Furthermore, it offers bulletproof security that blocks anyone, including Ardent, from accessing assets except the owner.
