Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta is working on AI technology aimed at fueling creativity in the metaverse.

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, announced in a blog post that it will introduce BuilderBot, a voice command tool that allows people to “generate or import things into a virtual world just by using voice commands.”

Talking about the voice command technology, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “You’ll be able to create nuanced worlds to explore and share experiences with others with just your voice.”

Meta shared a demo video showing two characters in the metaverse giving voice commands to the BuilderBot. The BuilderBot, in turn, responded by adding 3D objects around the space.

Meta also plans to remove the language barrier and drive inclusion in the metaverse by introducing two AI systems, No Language Left Behind and Universal Speech Translator. These AI tools will translate between all written languages and provide instantaneous speech-to-speech translation across all languages, respectively.

Another AI tool Meta is building is the Project CAIRaoke, an AI system that would allow people to have more fluid conversations with their virtual assistants in the metaverse.
